here are some of my ideas for card messages. I was thinking shortened messages like when IMing but it might come off strange. hmm, i guess i don't have a way to show you. with the MSN emoticons, this is what I'm doing:

My thanksgiving was complicated, and filled with little kid sickness, so I want to cancel class for Tuesday Dec. 2, and plan on class Tues. Dec. 9. I had suggested that we might go the other direction, but this scenario makes more sense from my end. Does it make sense to the five of you?

I'd be happy to meet with any of you to give you feedback on your final projects. My hours are pretty regular this work--mornings are good, afternoons okay, but with a handful of classes and meetings.

David, can you link up an essay for us on the blog? I will prepare some material for the 9th, you should all read the essays Kyle, Steve, and Dave post, and you should all bring material that you would like feedback on.
